But there is a tying guide, that you can find below.

Additional details of steps and information that might come in handy when tying the Footprint F-Fly

Footprint F-Fly Guide - Step 1

Place the hook in the vise and secure the tails at the bend of the hook.

- Michael Olesen

Footprint F-Fly Guide - Step 2

Tie down 2-3 CDC feathers at the eye of the hook, ensuring that the tips point forward. They should be slightly longer than the length of the hook.

- Michael Olesen

Footprint F-Fly Guide - Step 3

Strip the barbs off on one side of your hackle and tie it down on the upper third part of the hook shank.

- Michael Olesen

Footprint F-Fly Guide - Step 4

Tie down 2 peacock herls at the base of the tails, and advance the thread to the hackle, leaving it there.

- Michael Olesen

Footprint F-Fly Guide - Step 5

Twist the 2 peacock herls together and wrap them in touching turns, right to the hackle tie-in point and securing it with the thread.

- Michael Olesen

Footprint F-Fly Guide - Step 6

Wind the peacock herl and hackle together on the hook shank, approximately 3 wraps, and secure it about 2 mm behind the eye of the hook.

- Michael Olesen

Footprint F-Fly Guide - Step 7

Fold the forward-facing CDC feathers backwards and tie them down on the hook shank about 2 mm behind the eye, just in front of the hackle. This creates a small CDC head. Finish the fly at the eye of the hook or just behind the small head.

- Michael Olesen

Footprint F-Fly Guide - Step 8

The finished Footprint F-Fly with sparse hackle and the tapered body, which can naturally be achieved by using tapered peacock herl.
